Youth Wrestling Program
Team Alpha Male Overview
Team Alpha Male (TAM) was founded by Sacramento native Urijah Faber. Over 80% of the team’s members come from a wrestling base and it is the current home to over 35 professional MMA fighters representing over 10 different fight organizations including the UFC, Bellator, and World Series of Fighting. There has been a long, proven track record of success including current and former champions in several weight classes. TAM has over 200 years of combined wrestling experience, both as individual wrestlers and also as coaches. Our level of experience is unrivaled and we truly believe that iron sharpens iron. To this day, our team members continue to learn high level wrestling techniques and are always evolving with each other, and with the sport.
The Team Alpha Male (TAM) Youth Wrestling program is committed to shaping individuals into disciplined, hard-working student-athletes. We want our wrestlers to excel on and off of the wrestling mat. We also understand that each individual has different goals and aspirations when it comes to joining the TAM Youth Wrestling program, and we have structured our program in a way that will properly accommodate your child’s wrestling development. By splitting our program up, our highly knowledgeable coaching staff will be able to give each wrestler more one-on-one time, while also providing very specific guidance for your child’s skill level. The TAM Youth Wrestling program is divided into the following two divisions:
TAM Novice- Our TAM Novice group will consist of wrestlers who have recently begun their journey on the mat and have less than three years experience.
TAM Elite- Our TAM Elite group will consist of wrestlers with at least three years of training experience, with exceptions for wrestlers who have made rapid advancements in under three years.
Wrestling is a constant grind and can be extremely physically and mentally draining. Our practices will be focused on creating a high energy level, while simultaneously maintaining a fun environment. While everyone has different goals within the sport of wrestling, they all share the desire to succeed. We will help to create a champion mindset for every wrestler in our program. Our Team Alpha Male pro team has become a support network with a family mentality and we would like to instill this same atmosphere within our Youth Wrestling program. Our immediate objective is to build our team into the top program in Northern California while helping our student-athletes accomplish their goals on the mat, and in life.

We are starting as a supplemental program, with a goal of becoming an exclusive program. It is a structured practice, not an open mat.
The practices will be open to all wrestlers as a supplemental weekly practice for those who want to improve and get extra work with different partners. Once the program becomes exclusive, it’s up to you to choose which club you would like to represent.
Shorts without pockets and a t-shirt at a minimum. Spandex or rash guards/compression shirts are also acceptable. Wrestling shoes, headgear, and a mouthguard are highly recommended.
Parents can direct their children through a technique if a coach is assisting another child but parents will not be allowed on the mats during practice.
Once we build into a team, we will have singlets and gear available for purchase.
Yes, we will offer private coaching with one of our team coaches for an additional fee.
When your wrestler becomes an exclusive member of the club, coaches will coordinate with parents which tournaments to attend.
